New rules of storytelling: The rise of tablets
The explosion of tablets has begun to change the way journalists and photographers tell their stories. By 2015, more tablets are likely to be sold than laptops in the US. Our latest Hacks/Hackers panel looks at the emergence of new forms of multimedia narrative from graphic journalism to the narrative App. Find out about the new rules of the story. The panelists will give a short talk about their work, highlight examples and then open things up for discussion. Food and drinks provided courtesy of Pearson
Panelists: John Knight is a co-founder and Executive Editor of Once Magazine, an iPad photojournalism journal, based in San Francisco. Scott Doorley is currently Creative Director at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford (the "d.school"). Broadly, Scott's work focuses on how physical context and digital media can use drama to create authentic interactions. He teaches several classes in subjects at the intersection of design and media arts: StoryViz: storytelling & visual communication, improv, and digital media design. Jessi Rymill is a design and editorial consultant whose studio, Closed Mondays, works on the cutting edge of multi-platform publishing. Her recent tablet projects include Al Gore's Our Choice and Tim Ferriss's 4-Hour Chef.

Hey Michael, this was pretty popular, is there a way you could use your platform for another get-together around the topic....those who want to network and meet others...it may be smaller and have less logistics issues since it won't need a speaker??
Hey Tim. That sounds good. I've created a GDox here. If anyone is interested in continuing the conversation / exchanging ideas, please sign up on this Google Dox and we'll make it happen. https://docs.googl...
