Hacks and Hackers panel on personalized news

The personalized newspaper is now a reality. Readers can tailor the Web to deliver a unique front page every day, hour or minute. What news do people want? How are sites sifting through the deluge of information to find the most relevant content? Is it possible to maintain the serendipity of a print newspaper online? Hacks and Hackers is hosting a panel of top experts in the field:

Dan Cohen (@IamDanCohen) advises early-stage startups in consumer web and digital media. Cohen was previously CEO of Pageflakes, the social personalized start page, where he grew the company into a global, award-winning product and directed the company's acquisition by LiveUniverse. Earlier, Cohen was head of My Yahoo!, and led personalized products at Google, including iGoogle and Google Reader. Cohen was also cofounder of mobile startup Personity and founder of enterprise applications provider USConnect, acquired by Openwave and IKON, respectively.

Ethan Gahng is a founder and CEO of Lazyfeed (www.lazyfeed.com), a web-based feed reader with a unique approach which delivers latest web content not based on sites but based on topics. He envisions the world where everything relevant comes to people instead of people going to them, so that time can be spent on more important and creative things.

Freddy Mini is the CEO of Netvibes. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer where he oversaw Netvibes' worldwide business strategy, while leading the company's rapid expansion across four continents. Prior to Netvibes, he was the co-founder of musicMe (the first music search service), the CEO of Ziff-Davis (France), and the senior VP and managing director of CNET Networks Europe.

Dan Olsen is CEO and founder of real-time discovery engine YourVersion. He has 18 years of tech experience focused on consumer web products, including five years at Intuit where he led product management for Quicken and launched an online brokerage. Dan also led product management at Friendster. Before starting YourVersion, Dan consulted for many startups, including Box.net, YouSendIt, Epocrates, Xing and MoodLogic.
