Hacks and Hackers third meetup and panel: The Future of Online Magazines

Hacks and Hackers is proud to host an all-star panel discussion on the future of online magazines. We will talk about the latest and greatest in publication design on the Web. And we will look forward to the editorial possibilities, challenges and opportunities that could arise from innovations yet to be seen such as the mythical Apple tablet.

The panelists:

Alexis Madrigal is an energy and science writer at Wired.com. He's helped build Wired Science into the largest science blog in the world. Madrigal is a visiting scholar at University of California, Berkeley’s Office for the History of Science and Technology. His first book "Inventing Green," a history of green technology, is due out in Fall 2010. He's interested in how energy and information flow.

Laura Brunow Miner is an editor, designer, and photography lover in San Francisco. She founded Pictory (pictorymag.com) and Phoot Camp (phootcamp.com) and was formerly editor in chief of JPG Magazine.

Sarah Rich is a senior editor at Dwell Magazine. She is the former managing editor of the websites Inhabitat and Worldchanging, founding editor of CivilEats.com and co-author of the book "Worldchanging: A User's Guide for the 21st Century." In 2008 she co-founded the Post-Chronicle wiki as a platform for envisioning the future of news media.

Robin Sloan is a writer and web generalist in San Francisco who works at the intersection of technology and storytelling. Previously, he was the strategist at Current, an independent TV network co-founded by Al Gore and Joel Hyatt. Now he shares his writing and works-in-progress at robinsloan.com.
